Can’t Close Opportunities in
Dynamics 365 9.0?
For those of you with Dynamics 365 Online, Dynamics 365 for Sales, or a Customer Engagement license, Dynamics 365 9.0 has been a great update. But like most updates, it is not without a few glitches. I found this one last week when any user, including system admins, tried to close an opportunity.
Every user trying to close an opportunity got the generic “An Error has Occurred” message screen. When we downloaded the log file, it said: “Resource not found for the segment ‘WinOpportunity.’”If we tried to close the opportunity as lost, the log file said: “Resource not found for the segment ‘LostOpportunity.’”
Fortunately, the fix is simple. Unfortunately, it wasn’t something I could do myself, at least not with Dynamics 365 Online. The issue was that the application and database versions were slightly different, as shown here:
So I reached out to Microsoft support. After they applied an update to our system, we were back in business. If you’re experiencing a similar issue, please connect with Microsoft support to have your solution updated.
