Cargas Leadership Expands to Support Growing Business

Lancaster, Pennsylvania – June 3, 2021 – Cargas is thrilled to announce several new promotions over the past few months. The following individuals have been recognized as invaluable leaders for the Cargas team.

Executive Changes

Two familiar faces have been promoted from Directors to Vice Presidents.

Heidi Bianco, formerly Director of Human Resources, is promoted to Vice President of Human Resources. Heidi has more than two decades of experience in human resources and is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist. She spent three years as a Systems Consultant and Project Manager at Cargas when the company was smaller, eventually leaving to pursue her HR passion. As our company grew and we built a dedicated HR team, Heidi was thrilled to return as our Director of Human Resources. Now, as Vice President of Human Resources, Heidi can balance human resources and executive duties—including serving on our Board of Directors. Heidi loves the work she does to support the Cargas culture, specifically the employee-owned, built-to-last model.

Since joining in 2015, Heidi has made a big impact in helping to improve our HR strategies, programs, and processes,” said Nate Scott, President and CEO of Cargas.

Alex Mobarak, formerly Director of Finance, is promoted to Vice President of Finance. Alex came to Cargas in 2015, with 8 years of experience in various public accounting and corporate finance positions, including at a Big 4 accounting firm. Alex draws on his expertise as a Certified Public Accountant and on his experience with financial statement audits and financial reporting and analysis. Using his unique perspective on team structures, attention to detail, and communication skills, Alex oversees Cargas’ Finance team as Vice President, providing financial insights and using technology to help our company scale successfully and work more efficiently. He loves the challenges that come with a growing company and keeping pace with our financial success.

His open-book presentations on our financial and employee ownership model have helped increase our team’s understanding of key financial concepts, and he continues to help us introduce practical internal controls and manage enterprise risk,” said Scott.

IT Team Changes

To sustain our growing technological needs, we’re excited to promote one of our IT managers to a new leadership role.

Vince Aukamp, formerly an IT Manager, is promoted to Director of IT. As Cargas’ IT Director, Vince focuses on the needs of our team and developing our IT infrastructure to support our growing company. Vince arrived at Cargas in 2017 with a background in both software and finance. After earning a degree in Finance from Bloomsburg University, Vince spent 15 years managing the financial and operational systems of a large financial services company and 5 years managing implementations of financial software. As a result, Vince understands and appreciates the impact technology can have on a company’s daily operations.

He has driven the move to the cloud for nearly all of our infrastructure, helped lead our office move project, and has taken on accountability for creating an office environment that helps us work better together,” said Scott.

Finance Team Changes

The Sage Intacct business unit is dedicated to the resale, implementation, and support of Sage Intacct cloud accounting software.

Sara Maxwell, formerly a Team Leader on our Finance team, is promoted to Manager of Accounting and Operations for Finance. Sara joined the Cargas team in 2015 after spending 8 years in various accounting positions across industries like distribution, finance, and tech. While serving as Cargas’ Financial Accountant, Sara participated in several key initiatives, including helping transition our accounting software from Microsoft Dynamics GP to Sage Intacct and streamlining our internal billing processes. Now, as the Manager of Accounting and Operations, Sara puts this experience to use overseeing the daily operations of the finance team, as well as supporting new finance initiatives and projects to scale our company’s processes as we grow. She enjoys the variety in her position—each day is fast-paced and filled with different tasks, her ideal working environment!

“We are excited for Sara to take this next step in her career and look forward to the positive impact she can make in this newly formed position,” said Mobarak.
