Cargas Named to Inc. Magazine’s Annual List of Best Workplaces for 2020
Lancaster, Pennsylvania – May 5, 2020 – Inc. magazine has named Cargas to its annual list of Best Workplaces for 2020. The list is the result of a wide-ranging and comprehensive measurement of private American companies that have created exceptional workplaces through vibrant cultures, deep employee engagement, and stellar benefits. Cargas is one of 12 companies from Pennsylvania on the list and the only from the South-Central region.
“Cargas was founded on the vision that creating a great place to work attracts talented and motivated employees. And our direct employee ownership fosters a team that is uniquely invested in the success of our business and our customers,” said Nate Scott, President & CEO. “We’ve significantly invested in our culture, and we’re honored to see it recognized at a national level.”
The Best Workplaces list is based on data collected from more than 3,000 submissions. To single out this year’s 389 finalists, each nominated company took part in an employee survey conducted by Quantum Workplace on topics including trust, management effectiveness, perks, and confidence in the future. Inc. gathered, analyzed, and audited the data, then ranked all the employers using a composite score of survey results.
This year’s results showed 73.5 percent of surveyed employees were engaged by their work, but among the honorees, the typical score is above 90 percent. The strongest engagement scores came from companies prioritizing the most human elements of work. While researching the finalists, Inc. and Quantum noted these distinct themes:
- 100 percent provide health insurance.
- 50 percent allow employees to bring pets to work.
- 62 percent take employees to offsite retreats to relax and recharge.
- 20 percent offer paid sabbaticals to reward length of service.
“Building a great corporate culture comes only from strong leadership,” says Inc. magazine editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “The companies on Inc.’s Best Workplaces list are setting an example that the whole country can learn from, especially now, when company culture is more important to the workforce than ever.”
The complete Inc. Best Workplaces 2020 list can be found here. It will also be featured in the May/June 2020 issue of Inc., available on newsstands May 12.
