Cargas Receives NCEO’s Innovations in Employee Ownership Award
Lancaster, Pennsylvania – May 1, 2018 – Cargas Systems, an employee-owned business software and consulting company with 108 employees, is one of two recipients of the Innovations in Employee Ownership Award. Administered by the National Center for Employee Ownership and the Beyster Institute at the Rady School of Business, UC San Diego, the award recognizes Cargas as an employee-owned company that has demonstrated a commitment to promoting employee ownership and innovation in its workplace.
The Innovations in Employee Ownership Award highlights the innovative practices that result from an engaged workforce of employee-owners. By sharing these ideas with the employee-ownership community, the NCEO strives to encourage employee-owned companies to continue to innovate. Winners are selected based on a review of the impact their innovative practices have on the company’s culture, performance, employees, the industry, the employee-ownership community, and the public perception of employee ownership. Any company with a stock or stock-based program is eligible.
Cargas was recognized for its direct employee ownership, open to all employees, with a special emphasis on its Ideas Unlimited program. Ideas Unlimited provides an annual forum for employees to present any idea, big, small, or off the wall, to the company’s leadership team and other interested employees.
“We are honored to be recognized at a national level for our unique employee-ownership model,” said Nate Scott, President & CEO. “We strive to foster innovative thinking about the way we do business, not just through our Ideas Unlimited program, but by asking all of our employees to think and act like and owners each and every day.”
Alex Mobarak, Director of Finance, accepted the award on behalf of Cargas during the NCEO’s Employee Ownership Conference, April 18–20, 2018, in Atlanta, GA.
