Sage Intacct is a top choice for teams that want to focus on compliance, accuracy, and automation. Here’s what sets Sage Intacct apart from other accounting solutions. 

Intuitive Interface. Sage Intacct boasts an intuitive interface, making it accessible for executives and team members of all skill levels—even those without accounting backgrounds. It’s designed to enhance efficiency by automating workflows, reporting, allocations, data entry, and more. 

Chart of Accounts. Sage Intacct’s unique shared chart of accounts (COA) minimizes the total number of accounts in the system. This makes the general ledger much more manageable and helps teams consolidate data without losing track of important metrics.

Like any software, Sage Intacct has received some constructive criticism across review sites. Common criticisms may sway your opinion, but they don’t mean the software is    bad—they just mean it may not be a good fit for your business.  

Cost. Sage Intacct may seem pricey, but its cost is comparable to similar mid-market solutions. More affordable software often comes at the cost of innovative features and limited scope; Sage Intacct’s price includes its growth capabilities and unique modules. Additional fees for education, ongoing training, and support can add to the total price, but these costs vary depending on the implementation partner you choose. 

Operational Functionality. Sage Intacct is the only financial management solution that has received an endorsement from the AICPA. That, paired with its GAAP and HIPAA compliance, make it a force to be reckoned with. However, even with these accolades, not every industry will be able to run Sage Intacct alone. Areas like manufacturing, inventory, HR and payroll, and time and expense management aren’t covered by Sage Intacct’s base features; instead, organizations need to implement third-party tools to get all the features they need. 

Rigidity. Sage Intacct is highly customizable during the initial setup, but because the software needs to maintain its GAAP compliance, configurations are difficult to change after implementation.  

Support. Sage Intacct’s rigidity means that any changes to its configuration require assistance from the software’s developers or resellers. While some customers want full control over their software, others appreciate leaving the technical side to the experts.
