How much does Salesforce cost? The price of Salesforce will depend on the size of your sales team and the licenses you choose to purchase. How much does HubSpot cost? At its most basic, HubSpot’s pricing starts at $20 per user per month for the Starter tier, which includes one core seat and a selection of core features. However, most mid-sized businesses will spend $10,000–$50,000 on annual subscription costs depending on the hubs, subscription tiers, and seats they need. In addition, implementation costs can range from $12,000 to $60,000+.

Understanding Salesforce CRM’s Pricing Structure

Salesforce CRM is a suite of applications for sales, marketing, and customer service teams. Understanding how pricing works for one or more of these modules might seem complex, but don’t worry! This guide and our Salesforce Pricing Calculator will simplify the pricing structure to help you estimate the cost of investing in Salesforce.

Your monthly subscription price will depend on several factors, including:

  • Your selected modules
  • Your required number and type of user licenses
  • Your required customization and integrations

Key Pricing Factors

Modules

Salesforce CRM includes three subscription-based modules, which can be purchased individually or bundled:

  • Sales Cloud

  • Marketing Cloud

  • Service Cloud

User Types

Salesforce’s Sales and Service Clouds are priced per user, with different license tiers depending on the features you need:

  • Enterprise – Core features at an affordable cost

  • Unlimited –  Advanced features for an additional fee

  • Agentforce 1 – Unlimited access to Salesforce CRM features and customizations

Businesses pay a flat fee per organization for Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Most businesses only need a single instance of Marketing Cloud, but organizations with multiple branches may benefit from more than one instance.

Starter and Pro Suites

Salesforce offers a small-scale Starter Suite for sales, marketing, and customer service to give users a taste of what the Salesforce CRM platform has to offer. The Starter Suite costs $25 per user per month, can be paid monthly or annually, and comes with basic features across its three focus areas. This suite is not designed for growing businesses, and it works best for companies hoping to test-drive Salesforce’s features.

The Salesforce Pro Suite is an extension of the Starter Suite that costs $100 per user per month and includes all Starter Suite features. In addition, the Pro Suite offers more customization and automation tools. This is the lowest-level license that most businesses consider purchasing.

Salesforce CRM Sales Cloud Pricing

Salesforce Sales Cloud pricing follows a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, with businesses paying a monthly fee per user license. One of the best ways to cut down on the cost of Salesforce Sales Cloud is to determine what functionality a user requires and grant each user a corresponding license. All users in an organization are required to have the same license types.

Salesforce Sales Cloud licenses come in three tiers: Enterprise ($165/user/month), Unlimited ($330/user/month), and Agentforce 1 ($550/user/month). These are typically paid on an annual basis.

Salesforce CRM Marketing Cloud Pricing

Salesforce offers a few Marketing Cloud products, which can be confusing for customers. When we refer to Marketing Cloud, we’re specifically talking about Marketing Cloud Growth, Salesforce’s newest marketing automation tool built specifically by Salesforce. Salesforce also sells legacy marketing tools purchased via acquisitions—Marketing Cloud Engagement (formerly ExactTarget) and Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly Pardot). While these can still be purchased, Marketing Cloud Growth (which will be referred to as just “Marketing Cloud” from here on out) is Salesforce’s latest key offering.

Unlike the Sales and Service Clouds, Salesforce Marketing Cloud is priced per organization rather than per user. For larger organizations or those that require several teams to access marketing data, this can make Marketing Cloud a worthwhile investment.

Marketing Cloud comes in two editions—Growth Edition ($1,500/organization/month), which is better for small and mid-sized businesses, and Advanced Edition ($3,250/organization/month), which is designed for large enterprises. Although they are priced per month, both editions are billed annually. Additional add-ons and credits are available for purchase to increase email send limits, create more segments, and utilize powerful AI features.

Growth Edition Advanced Edition
Email Marketing Management
Campaign Analytics
Segmentation
Content Creation (Emails and SMS)
Multi-Channel Journeys
Forms and Landing Pages
Advanced Personalization
Lead Scoring
Opportunity Influence and Reporting
Predictive Scoring and Engagement Frequency
Unified Conversations for SMS and WhatsApp
Journey Testing

Implementation Cost

Implementation of a Salesforce CRM product typically includes system setup and configuration, migration of your legacy data, and user training.

Implementation costs will vary depending on your chosen Salesforce partner and the needs of your business, like the number of modules you’re implementing and the number of customizations and add-ons you’re deploying.

On average, implementation of Salesforce’s Sales, Marketing, or Service Clouds starts at $25,000. Be sure to consult any potential partners about their costs before committing to implementation.

Ongoing Cost

Beyond the core subscription fee, there are additional expenses to consider for a long-term Salesforce investment. Companies in need of advanced features powered by AI and functionalities like complex quoting tools often require extra investment or higher license tiers. Meanwhile, companies looking for hands-on support may prioritize the Premier Success Plan, which offers dedicated account management for an additional fee.

As your team grows, so does your monthly subscription fee. Many organizations choose to pay extra for ongoing support from certified Salesforce implementation partners, who offer invaluable expertise in customizing and optimizing systems. Factoring in these ongoing expenses provides a more realistic picture of your Salesforce budget.

Salesforce Partners

Salesforce boasts a public API that allows developers to create custom add-ons for its CRM apps. If you are going to invest in Salesforce, you should consider what advanced functionality might benefit your business. Even if you are not interested in purchasing other Salesforce products beyond Sales, Marketing, and Service Cloud, you can flesh out the software with add-ons from AppExchange.

And, if you can’t find what you’re looking for on AppExchange, you can tap a developer to build a custom solution using Salesforce’s open API. While this is a more costly way of getting the exact functionality you want, it ensures your solution will do exactly what you need it to.

If you’re looking for a dedicated Salesforce Partner, why not choose Cargas? Cargas is one of Pennsylvania’s most experienced CRM partners for implementation, customization, and support. With more than 30 years of software implementation experience, plus a dedicated in-house customization team, we’re here to help.
