What Is Acumatica AI Studio?

Acumatica AI Studio is a low-code/no-code platform that brings the power of artificial intelligence to Acumatica’s ERP software. More specifically, AI Studio enables team members of varying skill levels to automate activity workflows by setting up triggers for specific events and developing button-based capabilities. 

Acumatica introduced AI Studio 2025 R1 and greatly expanded it in 2025 R2. The program represents the three pillars of Acumatica’s AI-first strategy: 

• Interactive Assistants – Conversational interactions within the ERP 
• Automation – Accomplishing tasks automatically or with limited manual input 
• Intelligent Advisors – Insights, anomaly detection, and guidance 

With AI Studio, users can embed AI into any workflow or screen—or expand existing AI capabilities within the software. This flexibility allows Acumatica users to stay within the ERP environment rather than switching to external AI tools, which ultimately saves time and makes teams more efficient. 

How Does AI Studio Work in Acumatica?

On the surface, AI Studio models are relatively simple—users click a button or submit a query within Acumatica, and the embedded AI offers a result or answer. However, building and deploying the model can be more complex. 

The following four-step process demonstrates how users can build new models in AI Studio: 

Step 1: Select a Large Language Model (LLM)

The first step in building an AI Studio workflow in Acumatica is to select a large language model (LLM) to use.  

LLMs are AI systems that study massive amounts of text from across the web to understand natural, conversational language. Integrated with Acumatica, LLMs enable users to interact with AI Studio in plain English, rather than a complex coding language, ensuring AI Studio remains a low-code/no-code tool for data fetching, insight analysis, and report generation. 

Step 2: Select a Workflow or Screen to Automate

After selecting an LLM to read and execute commands, the next step is to choose which screen or workflow to automate. AI Studio can either expand existing AI functions in Acumatica or implement new ones. 

Step 3: Create an LLM Prompt

On the LLM Prompt page, users can input instructions in plain language to add AI capabilities to a module or workflow, such as… 

• Configure AI assistants that can pull and analyze data 
• Generate content like product descriptions and support case closure notes 
• Collect invoice data from vendors and customers 
• Score leads as they transition from prospective buyers to customers 
• Detect anomalies in connected data sources 

Step 4: Execute the Prompt

Once you have built and tested the prompt, it’s time to launch it and reap the time savings. Each AI workflow remains customizable after launch, so you can return to AI Studio and update a prompt’s output parameters as your needs change.  

How Do I Enable AI Studio in Acumatica?

If you want to try Acumatica AI Studio, run through the following steps to ensure it’s accessible and ready to use:  

Step 1: Check Your Acumatica Version and UI

AI Studio was released in early 2025, so your Acumatica version must be 2025 R1 or newer to access AI Studio. Additionally, AI Studio is only available in Acumatica’s Modern UI. 

Step 2: Enable AI Studio Features

If you don’t see AI Studio in your menus, it may not be active on your instance of Acumatica. Check the status of AI Studio under Settings > Enable/Disable Features.  

Step 3: Create an Account with an LLM Provider

In addition to an API key, an account with your selected LLM provider is required to integrate the LLM with AI Studio and Acumatica.  

AI Studio currently supports four LLM integrations: 

• Amazon Bedrock (AWS) 
• Anthropic 
• Azure 
• OpenAI 

Step 4: Deploy the LLM

Rather than tap into the public-facing version of your selected LLM, Acumatica requires users to set up a secure environment where the integrated LLM can live. Your Acumatica partner can help you work through the technical requirements to deploy your selected LLM.
